Apple Pie Gelato with Tender Apple Chunks and Crushed Pie Crust

Updated: 8 hours ago
That pie-shop aroma belongs in the pan, not just the oven. This batch folds homemade Apple Pie filling into a smooth gelato base, then finishes with crunchy crust for a clean scoop and a cozy Fall profile.

What you’ll need
1 liter prepared gelato base or vanilla gelato
1 cup homemade apple pie filling, completely cooled
1 tablespoon apple pie seasoning
Crushed baked pie crust or graham crackers, to taste
How to make it
Blend the base.
Blend the prepared gelato base until smooth.
Add the apples.
Add the cooled filling and pulse briefly. Don’t overblend. You want small apple chunks throughout.
Stir in the seasoning.
Gently mix in the apple pie seasoning until it’s evenly spread.
Churn the gelato.
Pour the mixture into your gelato machine and churn according to your machine’s instructions.
Fold in the crust.
Add crushed baked pie crust or graham crackers at the end of churning. Save a little for garnish.
Batch ratio
For every 1 liter of gelato base, use 1 cup cooled apple pie filling and 1 tablespoon apple pie seasoning. Keep that ratio steady, and the flavor stays balanced without turning too heavy.
